The sunsets out here can just stop you in your tracks some days and I must admit they’ve given me goosebumps a couple times so to be able to photograph people with that type of backdrop is pretty close to perfection for me.

INTRODUCING MAZZLE DAZZLE PHOTOGRAPHY

Hi I’m Marianne McCarthy, welcome to Mazzle Dazzle photography!!!

I live on a 2.8 million acre cattle station near Thargomindah in Southwest Queensland with my husband and 3 wild little bush kids. I spend most of my days being home tutor to my children who are educated through school of distance education and supporting my husband in his role as a station manager but every other second is spent behind a camera.

I have worked on cattle properties pretty much all my working life and I’ve tried my hand at nearly every job that I was allowed to have a go at but never in a million years had I ever considered becoming a photographer. It was just a bit of a hobby until my kids were born and my hubby purchased me a good camera and lens. I was taking photo’s of the stockcamp, my kids and station life for a few years before attending an outback camera date which is where I realised very quickly I had so much more to learn about taking a photo I could be truly proud of. I soon enrolled in an online course with the Photography institute of Australia and actually managed to complete the course and gain so much knowledge about the art of photography. Armed with this new knowledge and zero spare time I came up with a name, created a Facebook page, spent way too much money on camera gear, then a website and I am still battling away but loving every minute.

I am a fairly outgoing, friendly, fun loving person who loves trying to make people laugh especially when they are in front of the camera. I find if everyone is laughing during a photoshoot they soon forget about being photographed and that’s when you capture those perfect moments.

My biggest dream is to become a wedding photographer and help couples remember the most special day of their life.
